Murray's Buoy Sweater

In collaboration with Amanda Arnson

dd_fuji_pics_elizmceni-72.jpg

This sweater was designed in collaboration with Amanda Arnson and hand-knit by the designer. Together, Arnson and I workshopped silhouette, color palette, blocking, and the type of knit that would best suit the collection. This sweater encapsulates everything New England, using a cozy DROPS Lima 4-ply sport yarn with a Wool and Alpaca fiber blend. This piece was fully fashioned, made with 430 stitches wide flat, a hand-knit drop shoulder and 2x1 ribbing at the neck, cuffs, and base.

Inspired by brightly bobbing buoys on the coast of Downeast Maine and named after the late "Murray the Lobsterman," a local who lived down the river and would deliver our lobsters from his dingy.
